Why We Love ASOS

When it comes to online shopping, ASOS definitely does it right. With over 850 different brands on the site, you can pick and choose your new wardrobe and get it delivered straight to your door.
That’s not the only reason we love ASOS. Their website satisfies all of your fashion desires, with comprehensive fashion advice, updates on new styles, fashion inspiration, celebrity fashion, makeup, hair tutorials and, of course, the ASOS Marketplace, selling local labels and chic vintage boutique clothing from across the UK.
Finding the perfect outfit is simple with the ASOS catwalk display, granting you access to view the garment being worn by a model. You can see first hand if you like the fit and the style before you buy, without having to try the clothes on first.
Their aim is to become the number 1 fashion destination for 20-somethings globally – and they’re smashing it.

ASOS was founded by Nick Robertson and Quentin Griffiths in June 2000, being formally known as ‘As Seen On Me’ Ltd. Shortly after, the business rose to greatness, boosting their profit and becoming known as ASOS Ltd. Their first own-brand label was introduced in 2004. Over the next year ASOS came on leaps and bounds and grew their range of items from 500 to 1,800, subsequently hitting 1 million unique visitors to their online store. Their profits soared and they continued to grow.
In 2006 ASOS suffered a major setback when their only warehouse was badly damaged by a fuel explosion. They quickly bounced back and moved their headquarters to Camden Town, North London, hiring more staff and growing the brand. In 2007 the ASOS magazine hit the press when their own-brand of menswear was introduced.
In 2008 ASOS flourished with their retail sales jumping to 90%. They won the title of ‘Online Retailer of the Year’ by Retail Week. ASOS rapidly grew and in 2009 they went ‘designer’ by expanding their special collections and ASOS own-brand, again boosting sales to phenomenal levels. 2010 saw the introduction of ASOS Marketplace, giving customers access to vintage brands and local boutique collections. Not only that, in 2010 ASOS announced free shipping on all UK orders.
Quickly, ASOS became international, shipping to customers from around the globe. After a huge jump in international sales they quickly took to social networks and opened their international offices in 2012, with offices in New York, Lille, Berlin and Shanghai the next year.
Last year, ASOS joined forces with the British Paralympic Association and designed ceremony and formal wear for the British Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro in the Brazil Paralympic games.
